Everyone is talking about the ombre nail art but not everyone knows how to recreate the effect properly. Not to worry! This tutorial will show you how to recreate the ombre nail art that everyone is talking about!

Step 1: Before you begin, apply a clear base coat to all of your nails and let it dry for a few minutes. It should protect your nails from cracking and help your manicure last longer.

Step 2: A great way to prevent paint from drying on the skin around your nails is to paint around your nail with Elmer’s Glue first, and let it dry. Then, paint your nails with polish and peel off the glue when you’re finished to clean up.

Step 3: When adding the glue, make sure you paint all over the cuticles to prevent any messiness.

Step 4: Grab your sponge and paint the ombre colours in straight, horizontal or vertical lines. Start by paining a green line across the width of the sponge and then paint a purple line just above the green one. Then, add purple shadow in vertical lines. Make sure that the two colours are painted right next to each other and that there are no gaps between the shades. The sponge will help create the ombre effect as part of the beautiful sunset horizon background.

Step 5: Carefully stamp the painted sponge onto your nails. Roll the sponge several times to darken the polish colours and increase the gradient ombre effect. Apply a clear nail polish to prevent the ombre effect from smudging.

Step 6: Remove the sponge from your fingernail. Now you will see that the surrounding area is covered with nail polish too! This is where the glue trick comes in use!

Step 7: Use tweezers to remove the surrounding paint. Gently pill the corner off and grab it with your tweezers.

Step 8: Now peel off the glue when you’re finished to clean up.

Step 9: Lastly, add a top coat and you are ready! Do not forget that it’s especially important to use a high-quality, long-lasting formula.
