Potatoes Bake Recipes to Try This Week

There are a lot of people who like eating out, but this is not the cheapest way to have dinner. There are, in fact, many dishes one can prepare at home that are as delicious as if they were made by chefs. The most important thing in this case is to like cooking and to have the ingredients needed. Today we have prepared 2 bake recipes you can do on your own if you want to have a restaurant-like dinner for less money.

#1 Ham and Potato Bake

Ingredients:

5 potatoes
1 cup of cream
2 eggs
8 big pieces of ham
2 cups of bacon
8 slices of mozzarella cheese
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
2 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon of pepper

Directions:

Step 1
First, you need to peel the potatoes. Then cut them in slices. Put all of the slices in a bowl and season them with the salt and the pepper. Make sure that you spread the spices equally.

Then get a baking tin that is not very wide, but it is deep. Apply some olive oil on the bottom of it and then line the tin with potato slices so that they cover the bottom completely.

After that get the slices of ham and put 4 of them on top of the potatoes. Then get 4 slices of mozzarella cheese and line them on top of the ham slices. And repeat – one row of potatoes, one row of ham and one row of mozzarella.

Step 2
Next get the bacon and chop it. After that spread it equally on top of the last row of mozzarella. Then get the parsley which also needs to be thinly chopped beforehand. And this is not all.

Then you need to add another row of potatoes and to cover it with the shredded mozzarella cheese. Spread it equally.

Step 3
Leave the meal aside for now. Get a bowl and mix the cream and the two eggs in it. You need to make sure you whisk them well. Once this mixture is ready, you need to pour it on top of the potato-ham-mozzarella dish as much evenly as possible.

Bake the dish for 40 minutes at 175 0C.

Serve it while it is still warm and you can season it with some fresh parsley if you like.

Cheese and Potato bake

This recipe is not only delicious, but also very easy to do because you will not need to buy any special ingredients and you can even find all the things you need right now in your kitchen. So, if you are already interested in this recipe, check out what you need to do.

Ingredients:

1.2 kilograms of potatoes

¼ cup of plain flour
2 cups grated cheese

2 1/3 cups of milk

60 grams of butter

salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Step 1

First you need to preheat the oven to 180 0C. And then get a baking tin which needs to be deep.

Step 2

Now you need to get a saucepan and to melt the butter in it. Once the butter has melted completely and it has become bubbly, add the flour by stirring it constantly. You need to do this for about 2 minutes until the mixture has turned into a bubbly one. Then remove the pan from the heat.

Step 3

By continuing whisking slowly add the milk into the mixture. You should not stop stirring until it has turned into a nice thick mixture and there are no lumps of flour. Then return the pan to the hot plate and start stirring it again until the sauce starts to boil. Then add 1 ½ cup of the cheese by stirring it. And it should melt quickly because of the hot temperature.

Step 4

Now get the potatoes and peel them. Rinse them with some water and cut them into slices. Then turn back to the baking tin and apply some olive oil on the bottom. Divide the potatoes in three equal parts. Line the first part on the bottom of the baking tin.

Step 5

Then divide the cheese sauce into 3 equal parts as well. Pour one third over the first line of potatoes. Repeat the same step twice more – one row of potatoes, one row of cheese sauce. Once you have poured the last part of the sauce, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top equally.

Step 6

Put the dish in the preheated oven and bake it for an hour at 180 0C. The potatoes should turn golden and the cheese should have a thin crust. If the cheese turns too brown, you may add some foil on top and continue baking only the bottom of the dish.

Serve while it is still hot and you may season it with some fresh herbs as well.
