Nowadays there are a lot of makeup techniques and tricks women can try. Some of them, however, do not have the time to do them all. They apply some basic ones and leave the more time-consuming ones for some special occasions. That is why a woman should always know makeup basics in order to look pretty in no time.

One of the most essential parts of her face that a woman needs to draw attention to and thus focus on when applying makeup is her eyes. Trust me, a woman can do a lot with her eyes only. If you doubt it, think about people with blue eyes and the number of people attracted by them.

Today we are going to show you some makeup techniques that will make your eyes look more attractive and draw attention to them. The best thing is that they will not take you that much time. So, check them out!

#1 Reduce the puffiness

The first of the makeup tricks we are going to tell you about involves reducing eye puffiness. You know that sometimes when you have not slept a lot during the night, in the morning your eyes get puffy. Another reason for morning eye puffiness, and not only a morning one, is when a person cries a lot for a long time. In such cases one definitely needs to reduce the puffiness around their eyes.

One way of doing so is to apply something cold on your eyes, like an ice cube. The other, more pleasant, way to do so is to use a couple of spoons. Put the spoons for a couple of minutes in the freezer and then take them out and apply them on your eyes until they stop being cold. Repeat the trick if your eyes are still puffy.

#2 Hide dark circles

The next trick is very popular among women and it involves applying concealer under one’s eyes to hide dark circles. There are two important things you need to remember about the correct concealer application, though.

The first one is that you need to apply it under the eyes in a V-shape. This way you will not only hide dark circles but you will also make your face brighter.

The other thing you should have in mind when it comes to your concealer is to choose a suitable color. It should not be neither too dark, nor too bright, but just a shade lighter than your foundation color. If the color is not the right one, it may not have the same effect a concealer should have.

#3 Apply white color on your bottom waterline

There are a lot of women who are used to applying black color on their bottom waterlines. However, this is not one of the best makeup trick because the black color around the eyes makes them look smaller. It is much better to apply white color on your bottom waterline because this way you will open your eyes and will make them look brighter.

The same goes when you apply white color on the inner corner of your eyes – you make your eyes look brighter and bigger and your look becomes fresher. That is why you should have this in mind when you apply your makeup.

#4Contour your eyelids

You probably know all about contouring and how you can contour your face, especially you nose, forehead, and cheeks. But have you heard of eyelid contouring? It is similar to the other kinds of contouring – you have to accentuate some parts of your lids.

That is why you will need eyeshadow that is a couple of shades darker than your skin complexion. And then you need to apply it on the crease of your eyes. This way you will make your eyes look bigger and your look – deeper. This will also be a good base for the rest of your eye-makeup application.

#5 Use blue

Blue color will really make your eyes stand out especially if you have dark eyes. But even if you have blue eyes, you can accentuate them with such color. This is because the blue color will make the white part of your eye look brighter and whiter.

You can wear not only blue eyeshadow, but also blue eyeliner. If you would find it over-the-top to wear it on a daily basis, then you can wear them for different special occasions.
