The weekend is the time of the week for me when I can experiment with cooking. There are a lot of people who do not have time to cook during the week but their time to shine in kitchen is the weekend. That is why we have prepared some really delicious breakfast recipes for you to try at the weekend. Some people like having this meal for dinner as well, so you can have it whenever you like. #1 Chili Mac and Cheese
1 pound of ground beef
10 ounces of macaroni
3 ½ cups of chicken broth
3 cups of cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons of chopped garlic
14 ½ ounces of diced tomatoes
7 ounces of kidney beans
7 ounces of black beans
1 ½ tablespoons of chili powder
1 ½ teaspoon of cumin
1 teaspoon of seasoned salt
First you need to get a deep pan and heat it. Add the ground beef and the onion which you need to chop beforehand. Stir the two ingredients together. Cook them for a couple of minutes and then add the chopped garlic into the pan.
Mix it with the rest of the ingredients. By this time the ground beef should turn brownish-greyish. Remove the excessive fat from the pan.
Once you have removed the excess fat from the pan, add the diced tomatoes. After that add the kidney beans and the black beans. Season the ingredients in the pan with the chili powder, the cumin, and the seasoned salt. Mix the ingredients a little and then pour the broth into the pan. Stir everything well.
After the mixture starts boiling a little, put the macaroni into the pan as well. Stir the mixture well once again. Continue cooking it for 8-10 more minutes by stirring it occasionally.
Finally, you need to add the cheddar cheese into the pan and mix it well with the rest of the ingredients. You need to cook it for a minute or so and then take the pan off the hot plate. By this time the cheddar cheese should have melted.
And the chili mac and cheese will be ready. The only thing you have left to do is to serve them garnished with a spoonful of yogurt, a handful of cheddar cheese and some fresh parsley. Of course, these ones are optional.
#2 Chicken Mac and Cheese
400 grams of chicken
200 grams macaroni
250 grams of mozzarella
250 grams of cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon of flour
300 ml of milk
50 grams of butter chicken sauce
15 grams of butter (about 1 tablespoon)
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of pepper
First you need to get a deep pan and heat the butter in it until it melts completely. Then cut the chicken meat into pieces and add it into the pan. Season the meat with the salt and the pepper and stir it so they are distributed equally. Step 2
Cook the meat for a couple more minutes until it turns greyish. Then you need to remove the chicken pieces from the pan without taking the pan off the hot plate. Next you need to dice the onion. Add it into the hot pan and stir it a little. Cook it for half a minute or so and then add the flour. Stir the to ingredients together.
Then you need to pour the milk into the pan with the floured onion gradually by stirring it constantly. Then add the butter chicken sauce. Stir the mixture well until it all turns orange because of the chicken sauce. Then add the mozzarella and the cheddar cheese and stir the mixture once again well.
In a minute or so the cheese will have melted. Continue cooking the mixture and once it starts bubbling add the chicken meat into the pan once again. Immediately after that add the macaroni. Stir the ingredients together carefully. The mixture will be now quite thick so do not be in a hurry while stirring.
Once the whole mixture is a homogeneous one, stop stirring it and sprinkle some fresh cheddar cheese on top. Take the pan off the hot plate and put it directly into the oven. Bake the dish for 15 minutes at 180 0C. Once the time is up, get the pan off the oven. Serve the dish while it is still warm and you can also sprinkle it with some fresh parsley on top.
