Healthy Recipe with Salmon to Try at Home

There are a lot of different healthy meals one could have and they can easily be prepared at home. There are a lot of people who prefer to cook their own meals because this costs them less money and at the same time the portions are as big as they want. Sometimes the most important part about cooking one’s own meals at home is knowing what exactly you add in the meal.

When it comes to healthy ingredients people use in their cooking, one is very likely to find salmon in the list because it is not only very delicious, but it is also a kind of food that consists of a lot of healthy minerals and vitamins.

And today we have prepared for you a healthy recipe with salmon to cook at home. It will not take you a lot of time and it does not require almost any cooking. It is all fresh and delicious! So, here is the recipe!

Poke Bowl with Salmon

Ingredients:

6 ounces of salmon fillet
12 ounces of cooked rice

1 cucumber (1 ounce)

1 tomato (1 ounce)

1 scallion

½ of onion (1 ounce)

1 cup of soy sauce

¼ cup of sugar

¾ cup of rice vinegar

¼ cup of mirin

¼ cup of sesame oil

1 teaspoon of ginger

1 clove of garlic

salt to taste

Directions:

Step 1

First you need to prepare the salmon fillet. Season it with salt on each side and then put it in the fridge to cool it down for a couple of hours. When the time passes rinse the salmon and dry it from the water. Then cut it into small cubes. Put the cubes in a bowl.

Step 2

Now get the cucumber and wash it. Without peeling it, dice it into small pieces which need to be as big as the salmon ones. And then add them into the bowl with the salmon pieces.

Step 3

Now wash the tomato. If the peel is too thick, you may peel it, but otherwise keep the peel on. Then dice it. The pieces again need to be as big as the salmon and cucumber ones. Add it into the bowl with the other ingredients.

Step 4

Then get the scallion and the onion and chop them thinly. Add them into the bowl with the other chopped ingredients as well.

Step 5

Then get a new bowl. Grate the ginger and the garlic, or chop them very thinly. Then add them into the new bowl and mix them a little. Then get the soy sauce and pour it into the bowl.

After that add the sugar and whisk the mixture a little until the sugar dissolves. Then add the rice vinegar and the mirin. Stir them a little, after that add the sesame oil and whisk the mixture well. And the sauce mixture for the meal is ready.

Step 6

Pour 3 tablespoons of the sauce mixture on top of the salmon mixture. Then stir the mixture well letting the sauce reach all the ingredients in the bowl.

Step 7

When you are ready with this, get a clean bowl and fill half of it with some cooked rice. Then fill the other half of the bowl with the salmon mixture.

Finally, add a tablespoon of the say sauce mixture and let it get absorbed a little in the cooked rice. If you want, you could also sprinkle some chopped Nori on top of the mixture to make it even more sushi-like.
