Delicious Apple Recipes for Dessert

There are a lot of people who think that desserts are not only extremely caloric, but they also consider them not healthy at all. Well, not all kinds of desserts are not healthy. Think about fruit salads, for example. They contain only fruits, they are sweet, healthy and are very delicious. To inspire you to eat more fruits, we have prepared for you two dessert recipes with apples to try out. Here they are!

#1 Caramel Apple Bake

Ingredients:

7 apples
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
½ teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of flour
1 cup of brown sugar

For the syrup:
½ cup of butter
1/3 cup of flour
½ cup of sugar
½ cup of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Directions

Step 1

First you need to peel all the apples. Then slice them in halves and each half slice into crescent slices as many as there are. Then remove the seeds from the apples and cut the crescent pieces into halves. Put all the pieces of apples into a big bowl.

Step 2

Now once the apples are ready you need to add the lemon juice, the salt, the flour, and the brown sugar into the bowl. Mix all the ingredients well. This may take a while, but make sure you do it precisely. After that leave the bowl aside and prepare the syrup.

Step 3

Get a smaller bowl and put in it the butter. Add the 1/3 cup of flour, the white sugar and the brown sugar, and the cinnamon. Mix them well. And then you need to pour the mixture over the apple pieces. Mix them well again.

Step 4

Pour the mixture into a baking tin and bake it for about 40-45 minutes at 180 0C.

When the Apple Bake is ready you need to leave it for some time to cool down a little and then you can serve it. The apples will be covered in nice sweet caramel syrup.

Upside-down Apple Cake

The next recipe is perfect for those of you who like cakes. We have prepared for you a recipe for an upside-down apple cake. Here it is!

Ingredients:

4 apples
¾ cup of butter
1 ½ cups of sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla
½ cup of milk
1 ½ cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
¼ teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of cinnamon

For the caramel syrup:

1 cup of butter
1 cup of brown sugar

Directions:

Step 1

First, you need to peel the apples and cut them into crescents. Then leave them aside.

Step 2

Get a big bowl and put the ¾ cup of butter in it. Add the sugar and mix them together. You can use a whisk or if you want to do it more quickly, then you can use a mixer.

Add the 3 eggs into the rest of the mixture and again mix them together using a whisk. Then add the vanilla and the milk and continue whisking until you have a nice smooth mixture. It will take you about a couple of minutes.

Lastly, add the flour, the baking powder, the salt, and the cinnamon. Continue whisking until everything is blended nicely. At this point the mixture should have a light brownish color because of the cinnamon. Once you are ready with this, leave it aside while you are preparing the syrup.

Step 3

Get a small cooking pot and put the cup of butter in it. Heat it until the butter melts completely. Then add the cup of brown sugar. Continue heating it while stirring constantly the mixture until the sugar melts completely as well. Then you can remove the pot from the hot plate.

Step 4

Get a baking tin. Pour the caramel syrup and apply it equally on the bottom of the tin. Then get the apple pieces and line them over the caramel. You only need to make sure you all the apple pieces cover the bottom of the tin. Lastly, pour the flour mixture over the apple pieces. Apply it smoothly and evenly.

Step 5

Once you have prepared it, bake the cake for about 45-55 minutes at 180 0C. You will know that the cake is baked well if it has a nice brown crust on top.

Step 6

And since it is an upside-down cake, you need to serve it with the bottom part up. Get another tin and cover completely the first tin with the cake in it. Put it on top as a lid. Then holding the two tins, turn the tin with the cake upside down so the cake falls completely in the second tin. Be careful while doing this step so you do not make a mess or even ruin the cake.

Serve the pieces of cakes garnished with a ball of vanilla ice-cream.
