There are a lot of dietitians who say that one should not have snacks between the main meals of the day because this is not only going to ruin their meals, but they are more likely to gain weight this way. Even if people know that, they are sometimes so hungry that they need to have a few bites and not just sit around doing nothing and only thinking about food.
If you really are hungry and if you want to have some snack, then do it and do not torture yourself. And if you do not have snacks daily, then it is also fine. If you are interested in some snack recipes, then check out the ones we have prepared for you today.
#1 Pizza buns
The first of the recipes we have prepared for you today is not the fastest one to be made, but it is very delicious and perfect for a mid-day snack. It is a kind of pizza but in a bun. Here is the recipe!
1 can of biscuit dough
2 handfuls of Parmesan
3 tablespoons of butter
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
salt to taste
black pepper to taste
First you need to take the dough and cut a piece of it. It should be about a tablespoon big. Then make the piece round and flat as if you are preparing a mini size pizza.
Put half a spoonful of marinara sauce on the center of it. Then put a pepperoni piece on top of the center. And finally a small piece of mozzarella on top of the pepperoni piece. Then fold the dough piece inwards and make a bowl. Do the same with the rest of the dough.
When the pizza buns are ready, get a baking tin and line it with some baking paper. Apply a small amount of cooking oil on top of the backing paper and then put the pizza buns on the tin with some distance between them. Before you put the tin into the oven to bake the pizzas, you need to make the mixture for the top part of the pizza buns.
You need to melt the butter and pour it in a bowl. Then chop very thinly the garlic cloves and add them into the bowl with the butter. Add the Italian seasoning and some salt and pepper to your taste. Stir the mixture well.
Then using a cooking brush apply some of the mixture on the top parts of the bun equally. Then sprinkle some Parmesan on top of each of the pizza buns. When you are ready with it, put the tin in the oven. Bake the pizza buns for 15-20 minutes at 1900 C.
When the buns are ready, take the tin out of the oven and serve the buns with some tomato sauce. And voila, the snack is ready!
#2 Sweet Potatoes with White Sauce
1 sweet potato
1 cup of Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
2 tablespoons of chives
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 tablespoon of rosemary
1 and ¼ teaspoons of salt
1 and ¼ teaspoons of pepper
First, you need to wash the sweet potato. Then cut it into slices in any shape you want but make sure they are not very thick. Then put the potato pieces in a bowl and season them with the olive oil and the rosemary. Add a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of black pepper as well. Mix the potato pieces with the seasoning well until they are seasoned equally.
After that get a baking tin and line it with some backing paper. Put the potato pieces on it with some distance between each piece. Bake them for 25 minutes at 2200 C. When the time has passed, take the tin out of the oven.
While you are waiting for the potato pieces to get ready, you need to make the white sauce. Put the Greek yogurt in a bowl and add the lemon juice and the chives. Finally add the ¼ teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of pepper. Mix the ingredients well until it becomes a homogeneous mixture. And the sauce is ready. You can have the potatoes dipped in the white sauce.
