In the great book of classic makeup looks, it’s safe to say there would definitely be a chapter dedicated to the cat eye. There is something enchanting about the slender shape and outline of the cat eye makeup look. The feline effect has been quite a rage in the makeup world for a long time now. Cleopatra’s dramatic eye makeup is famous for its thick, bold lines and signature combination of black, yellow and glittery colours. Now is the time to try this Cleopatra inspired eye makeup look!
Step 1: With the help of a flat brush, apply black shadow deep into the crease line for a richer and more distinct eye. Connect the end of the flick with the outer corner of the lid, recreating the famous cat eye effect.
Step 2: Grab a brush dipped in black eyeshadow and fill in the lid following the black lines as guidance.
Step 3: Refine the lines with a very thin makeup brush.
Step 4: Apply a thick line of black eyeshadow to the waterline using an angled brush.
Step 5: To highlight your brow bone, use a soft white or cream colour directly under the eyebrow along the arch.
Step 6: Apply black eye pencil to the waterline to make the line thicker.
Step 7: Add shimmery shadow to the outer corner of the lid. This shimmery shadow will be the base for the glitter.
Step 8: Add glitter on top of the base shadow.
Step 9: Apply yellow shadow to the lid to make the transition smoother.
Step 10: You can add a bit of colour to the waterline too.
Step 11: As a final step, apply black mascara on your lashes. For the top lashes, look straight forward in the mirror, take the wand, place it at the base of your lash line and use back-and-forth motions to distribute the colour. When it comes to the bottom lashes, switch to a waterproof formula as it works best on lower lashes, preventing the colour from smudging.
