3 Sweet and Light Snacks to Prepare at Home

Nowadays there are a lot of people who are obsessed with having something sweet. This is usually some type of chocolate or cake. The bad thing about it is that such foods are delicious but very caloric. If only there was something that would be sweet and at the same time not so caloric and quite light.

There actually are light kind of sweet recipes, which, of course, have calories but not too many and the dessert will not make you feel too full. Here are some quick and easy dessert recipes which can offer you just the same.

#1 Frozen yogurt bites

Ingredients:

1 cup of Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon of honey
½ cup of fresh blueberries
1 cup of peanut butter

Directions:

First you will need to put the Greek yogurt into a bowl and then to add the teaspoon of honey. Mix the two of them well until it turns into a homogeneous mixture. Leave it aside for now.

After that you need to get a muffin baking tin. You can put some silicone cups in each one of the muffin forms if you would like to take the bites out of it easier.

Then scrape a ball of the yogurt-honey mixture and put it in the first shape. Spread it well on the bottom of the cup.

Then get a tablespoon of the peanut butter and put it on top of the yogurt. Spread it well on the surface as well without mixing the two layers together.

Finally, you need to put a few blueberries on top of the peanut butter layer and do not forget to wash them well beforehand. Do the same with the rest of the muffin cups.

Put the tin into the freezer and let it stay there until the bites get completely frozen. After that you could take the tin out of the freezer and you could serve the bites.

One portion contains about 128 calories which is enough to satisfy your desire for sweet but not to make you have too many calories which will result in gaining weight.

#2 Apple chips

The next recipe you could try out at home is fast and extremely easy. At the same time it does not contain a lot of calories and could satisfy one’s desire for something sweet. You could actually make apple chips. Here is what you need to do:

You will need one apple and some cinnamon. If you want to prepare some bigger quantity, you need to add a couple of more apples. Wash the apples and cut them in circles. You also need to remove the central part of each circle, especially the seeds.

Then you will need a baking tin. Line it with some baking paper and put the apple pieces on top of it. Then get the cinnamon and sprinkle a couple of pinches of it on top of each one of the apple pieces. Then sprinkle a pinch of salt on each one of the pieces.

Once you are done with all the pieces, turn them round and season them the same way once again. When you have done seasoning it, you need to bake the apple pieces in the oven for about 40 minutes at 1200 C. When this time ends, take the tin out of the oven. And the apple chips is ready. You can serve it.

#3 Frozen yogurt-covered strawberries

Ingredients:

¾ cup of Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon of honey
1 cup of strawberries
1 tablespoon of water
1 cup of crushed almonds

Directions:

First you need to put the yogurt into a bowl. Then add the honey and the water into the bowl and mix the three ingredients well until it all turns into a cream-like mixture.

Then you will need to wash the strawberries. Get one and dip it into the yogurt mixture until it is covered completely with the white cream.

Right after that dip the strawberry into the crushed almond. They will stick on the strawberry. Do the same with the rest of the strawberries.

You need to get a tin and to line it with baking paper. Put the strawberries on top of it and then put the tin into the freezer. Freeze the strawberries for at least 2 hours.

Then you can take the tin out of the freezer and serve the snack. It is delicious, easy and low-caloric. Enjoy it!
