Sandwiches have been popular for quite a long time not only because they are very delicious but also because they are easy to prepare and to carry around. That is why people decide to make some sandwiches before they go camping, or when they are on a road trip – it would be less messy than bringing some other home-made dishes.
There are a lot of people all over the world who eat sandwiches and they have added or changed some of the ingredients so they fit their taste and the local environment. The same goes for some American cities. There are sandwich recipes inspired by the local cuisine and environment. We have prepared some of them to check out!
#1 Miami sandwich
1 loaf of Cuban bread
4 slices of ham
3 slices of slow roasted pork
5 slices of Swiss cheese
1 small pickle
To prepare this sandwich you need to get the loaf of Cuban bread and to cut in in halves horizontally. You can also make it in a rectangular shape by cutting the first and the last piece of the loaf.
Then you need to apply some mustard on both inner sides of the sandwich. You can spread it evenly if you like. Then put the slices of ham on the bottom half of the sandwich. Put on top of them the roasted pork slice and on top of these slices put the Swiss cheese ones.
Then cut the small pickle into round pieces and put them on top of the Swiss cheese slices. Make sure you spread them evenly on the surface of the sandwich but still focus on the middle part.
The next thing you need to do is to put the top piece of the bread on top of the other with all the sandwich ingredients inside. Get a pan and heat it. Then put the sandwich inside and spread some melted butter on top of it.
After that you need to get a plate. With the help of it press the sandwich slightly hard. In some time, turn the sandwich upside down being careful not to scatter the ingredients inside.
Again press the bottom part of the sandwich so that it becomes much thinner. Once the Swiss cheese starts melting, which will be in a few seconds, you can take the sandwich off the pan. And voila, you can serve it!
#2 Pittsburg sandwich
2 slices of Italian bread
8 slices of capicola
1 slice of provolone cheese
a handful of French fries
a handful of coleslaw
2 slices of tomatoes
First you need to get a pan and to heat it. Put the 8 slices of capicola in the pan, the pieces on top of each other. In a minute or so, when the capicola is slightly baked, you need to turn it round to bake the other side of it.
Then put on top of the cacicola slices the provolone cheese. Leave it there in the pan until the cheese starts melting, then you can take the capicola and the cheese off the hotplate.
Put the capicola and the cheese, the way they are, on top of one of the Italian bread slices. Then put the French fries on top of it. After that put the handful of coleslaw on top of the French fries.
And lastly put the slices of tomatoes on top of the coleslaw row. Put the other slice of Italian bread on top of the sandwich ingredients. And voila, the Pittsburg sandwich is ready!
#3 Philly sandwich
1 Italian roll
½ pound of chip steak
½ cup of cheese whiz
¼ cup of grilled onions
The first thing you need to do is to cut the chip steak into pieces. Then heat a pan and cook the chip steak pieces inside of it until they turn dark greyish. You need to stir them all the time while cooking them.
You need to get the Italian roll and to cut it horizontally almost in half. Make sure it is still one piece. Then put the cooked chip steak pieces inside the Italian roll and spread them evenly on the surface.
Then apply the cheese whiz on top of the chip steak and make sure you spread it evenly focusing on the inside part of the sandwich so that the cheese does not fall down from the sandwich while you are eating it.
And also put the grilled onions on top of the cheese whiz layer spreading them evenly inside the sandwich. Once you are done with that, the sandwich will be ready. Enjoy it!
