If you still want to keep the tradition, but at the same time add a personal and more original touch to the dessert, you can try some of the recipes we have prepared for you today. Here are a couple of sweet and romantic Valentine’s Day desserts you can surprise your partner with on the holiday.

#1 Chocolate boxes

The first of the recipes we have prepared for you is very easy to execute and at the same time is pretty and sweet. You can make a box of chocolate filled with sweet cream.

Ingredients for 1 box:

1 cup of heavy cream

1 tablespoon of espresso powder

2 tablespoons of powdered sugar

5 big square pieces of chocolate

1 teaspoon of melted chocolate

whipped cream (optional)
1 strawberry

Step 1

First you need to get a deep bowl and pour the heavy cream in it. Then add the espresso powder on top of the heavy cream. You now need to get a mixer and mix the two ingredients well until they turn into a slightly thick light brown cream.

Step 2

After that you need to add the powdered sugar into the bowl and continue mixing the ingredients until they have a thick consistency. Once you are satisfied with the thickness of the mixture, you need to put it in the fridge for half an hour.

Step 3

While you are waiting for the cream to get refrigerated completely, you can prepare the chocolate box. Put one piece of chocolate on the table and on each of its 4 sides put the other 4 pieces of chocolate. You need to “glue” them together with some of the melted chocolate. Apply a small amount of it on the connecting sides of the chocolate pieces.

Step 4

Right after that you need to straighten up the 4 outer pieces of chocolate. Then you need to apply some more melted chocolate on the sides of the 4 straightened pieces of chocolate to “glue” them together as well. Make sure there is enough chocolate which will keep them from falling apart. Then leave the chocolate box aside for some time to let the melted chocolate harden.

Step 5

The last thing you need to do is to get the espresso cream from the fridge, after staying in it fro half an hour, and then to fill in the chocolate box with it. Once you have filled the whole of it, you can spray some whipped cream on top to make it look prettier. Decorate it with a strawberry as well. And voila, the chocolate box is ready! You can give it to your partner.

#2 Velvet Cupcakes

1 box of red velvet cake mix

3 eggs

1 cup of water

½ cup of oil

8 ounces of cream cheese

½ cup of powdered sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

cream cheese frosting or whipped cream

Step 1

The first thing you need to do is to get a big bowl and put the red velvet cake mix in it. Then add the eggs, the water, and the oil into the bowl. Mix them well together. There is no need to use a mixer, you can use some big wooden spoon. Stir well until it all turns into a consistent red mix.

Step 2

Leave the red velvet mix aside and get a new bowl. Put the cream cheese in it and add the powdered sugar and the vanilla extract. Get a spoon and mix all three ingredients well together. Make sure is is stirred evenly.

Step 3

Now you need to get a cupcake pan. Pour some of the red velvet cake mixture in each one of the cupcake shapes so they are filled up to the middle. Then get a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture and add it on top of the red velvet cake mixture.

Put a spoonful of it on top of each one of the cupcake shapes. Then fill in the rest of the shapes with red velvet cake mixture.

Step 4

After that you need to bake the cupcakes for 20 minutes at 1750 C. After the time passes you need to take the cupcakes out of the oven. Spray some of the cream cheese frosting on top. If you like, you can sprinkle something on top, like some red-only sprinkles. And voila, the cupcakes are ready to be served.
